Word of the Week: Specious

Specious -

1. apparently good or right though lacking real merit; superficially pleasing or plausible: specious arguments.
2. pleasing to the eye but deceptive.

Leading into the current economic crisis, many banks gave out specious loans to home buyers, where the loans looked to be affordable but in the end were not.

I acknowledge that the solution should overshadow the problem but sometime we need to find the source of the problem in order to find the proper solution.

The funny thing about this situation is that it's a circle. Everyone has someone to point their fingers at. The banks point their finger at Congress who points its fingers at previous Congresses who point their fingers at one party who points their fingers at another party who points their fingers at... well, you get the point.

So truly identifying the problem to find the solution is SO important. And it's also important for everyone to say "hey, no matter who's fault it is, it is what it is and we gotta deal with it now."

I just hate when people who "aint got a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of" defend the wealthy.

Its disturbing because they think their being intelligent or keen but they are only foolish.
